This is a 9 room Control4 system. Although Control4 make some very good colour touch screens, many people find that
their excellent 2 way hand held remote is sufficient. The 2 way wireless hand held (Zigbee) remotes can be used to
browse and select music (CDs loaded on to a central server) or select a DAB radio station from any of the rooms. In
rooms with a TV, the remote can also be used to bring up an on screen menu which shows the cover art.
Three of the rooms (e.g. bathrooms) have a wall mounted keypad as an alternative control device. The living room has a home cinema
system and Sky HD or DVD (up scaled) can be watched in high definition. 5 ceiling speakers and a sub-woofer provide the
surround sound. Three more rooms have TVs which can access the DVD or Sky box using the same remote control. There is also
some lighting which is set to come on at dusk.

The living room's TV is recessed into the wall (left). Pressing the 4 button on the remote
brings up the on screen menu (right). |

Albums can be browsed and selected - the cover art is shown on the screen. The remote also has an OLED display of its
own which can be used to select tracks or radio stations without turning on the TV.

The master en-suite bathroom has an in wall TV. Some rooms have an on wall LCD keypad which is a
more cost effective alternative to a colour touch screen.

The master bedroom and kitchen also have a TV. The remote can be used to select
a freeview station, control the central Sky box or control the DVD as well as selecting tracks or the radio. The master
bedroom also has a DVD player of its own that can be controlled from the same remote

The cupboard houses a network switch (which also powers the in wall keypads), a video switch (to
switch DVD, Sky and the on screen menu between 3 TVs), a Sky HD box, a Denon DAB radio, a Denon DVD player, the Control4
controller/server, an 8 room control4 amplifier and an Onkyo surround sound amplifier. The cables have been hidden - there are actually
about 100 different ones – so a lot of installation companies' cupboards don't look so neat when opened!.

12 rooms have a double Cat5e point (see right). These all connect back to the patch panel.
This allows the user to patch each socket as either data or phone. It also houses the TV amplifier for the 11 TV points.
